Tribute to Harvey

Rarely in a lifetime do you meet a person who touches a place in your heart like our Harvey Mills. He is a man that has left his mark on our company, in our lives, and in our community.

Harvey’s 11 years with Buck Jones has seen many changes. He implemented several discount programs to benefit the members of our community, such as safety personnel, educators, senior citizens, and friends of the library.

Ask anyone who has visited our location and they will tell you Harvey is a local legend. Customers entering the office are always greeted by our self proclaimed Paul Newman and Robert Redford look-alike. Since Harvey is a card-toting republican, the conversation that would inevitably ensue would have a political undertone, or at the very least, contain a rousing “Go Dawgs”. Regardless of the topic, when they leave they will feel they have a friend for life.

Harvey loves to share his years of wisdom and has openly discussed his life’s philosophy with many of us here at the nursery. He sees life as a stage and himself as an actor. We want to wish Harvey well as he moves into the next stage of his life with his beautiful wife Carol. Harvey will always be remembered here at Buck Jones Nursery as an exceptional coworker and a great friend to us all. Thank you Harvey!
